VisaRedesign
A redesign of an existing brand after Karl Gerstner’s morphological method. The task: make the mark more attractive by deriving it, not inventing it.

The question
Can a mark be derived rather than invented? Gerstner’s morphological method breaks design down into parameters and combines them systematically. The task was to find out whether that produces something usable or merely a system.
The approach
Six parameters as sliders: stroke weight, slant, geometry, connection, contrast and modularity. Every combination yields a variant. From that field I chose the version with connected letters, because it shows the flow of transactions.

The method gives you the field, not the decision. You still have to choose yourself.
